COOKING Classes at home

M. ELAINE DANOFF

Are you trying to reduce your animal product intake? Many people go into a new year or birthday with the grand idea that they are going to “go on a diet and lose a few pounds”. Some do it for health reasons. Others do it to fit into that elusive garment they just adore and can't get rid of. Many other reasons exist. They are as diverse as all of us.

The diet concept is almost a disease in our culture. The next greatest fad is better than the last. If they work so well, why do we need a new one each year?

I propose that we not use the word “diet” as meaning a quick means to an end. A diet is simply the nutrition intake of an organism. With that perspective in mind we can ask a different question.

What foods are the most efficient and sustainable to consume in order to get optimum efficiency and longevity out of my personal organism?

There is a great deal of literature touting the benefits of a whole food plant based diet to achieve optimal health.

Visit the Resources page for information and perspective.

No matter what your reason or where you are in life more tasty vegetables and whole identifiable food in your day would be a good thing!

The big hurdle for many is the daily “HOW?”

Let me be part of your solution!

I meet you at your home.

We chat about your goals.

We create a meal plan.

We go to your local grocery store.

We shop based on your goals and flavor profiles.

We cook in your house for you and two others if you choose.

I will leave you with recipes but more importantly I will teach you sustainable preparation methods.

Initial meeting for pantry overhauls includes shopping time.

Session fee does not include the cost of groceries.

Not responsible for clean up. I will, however, treat your kitchen with respect.
